THE SECRETS OF A HIJABI / mesh fabric, embroidery thread

The Secrets of a Hijabi is a project that explores the complex relationship a hijabi (a Muslim girl/woman who wears the headscarf) has with her hijab (headscarf). The stories were gathered through a survey sent out to a wide range of people from various backgrounds from Malaysia to the USA. They were then stitched onto mesh fabric to represent the transparent some-time-sweet-some-time-sour reflections these girls/women had with their hijab.
